Urgent! Act TODAY!

What’s happening?

LB 316, sponsored by the Attorney General, would completely ban hemp products in Nebraska, regardless of their federal legal status. We know that banning consumable hemp products is harmful both to the local economy and for public health. Small businesses that sell these products would take a huge hit, and many would have to close their doors. This would lead consumers of hemp products to an unregulated, unsafe, and untaxed black market to find what they’re looking for.

We expect it to come to the floor for a vote very soon. To keep your access to hemp products intact, we need to act fast, and we need your help to make sure we come out on top!

Dear Senator,
LB 316 will soon reach the floor of the legislature for debate and voting, which is a Nebraska ban on federally approved consumable hemp products.
I respectfully urge you to vote NO.
Banning consumable hemp will drive consumers underground to an unregulated and untaxed black market. Additionally, a ban on hemp products compounds the state’s fiscal problems by hurting small businesses, costing jobs, and denying Nebraska consumers federally approved consumable hemp products. Dozens of businesses, potentially hundreds of jobs, and tens of thousands of dollars of tax revenue for the state would disappear if these hemp products were to be banned.
Regulating these products actually saves jobs for Nebraskans and brings additional tax revenue into Nebraska’s economy. With the state’s current fiscal deficit, a tax on consumable hemp can be part of the solution.
Vote NO on LB 316.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,

If we make enough noise now, we can stop the bill from becoming law!
